We are not a booking platform. We are a team of people obsessed with the African wilderness — and with sharing it responsibly, intimately, and unforgettably.
Our Origin
Feral Eclipse was not built in a boardroom. It was built on the plains — through years of guiding, listening, and learning what truly moves people when they stand inside something wild.
Our founders spent a decade living and working across Tanzania's most remote regions before establishing Feral Eclipse. That time in the field is the bedrock of everything we do — our guide selection, our camp choices, our route design.
We work exclusively with small groups and private parties. We do not do volume. We do depth — crafting a finite number of journeys each year, each one meticulously considered, each one distinct.

Why We Are Different
Field-Tested Knowledge
Our specialists have logged thousands of hours in the bush. They do not read about Tanzania — they have lived it, season after season, across every terrain.
Right Place, Right Time
Timing is everything on safari. We match your travel window to the exact location, migration phase, and camp availability that will deliver peak encounters.
One Specialist, Full Journey
You work with a single specialist from first call to final debrief. No handoffs. No call centres. A real person who knows your trip as well as you do.
The Founder
Founder & Safari Director
Wildlife Practitioner · Conservation Advocate
Philip is a passionate wildlife enthusiast and practitioner dedicated to the protection of nature and the promotion of sustainable tourism. With a deep commitment to conservation, he works to safeguard biodiversity while encouraging communities and visitors to appreciate the value of wildlife. Philip’s vision is to inspire responsible tourism practices that not only preserve natural habitats but also create lasting benefits for people and the environment.
He established Feral Eclipse on that foundation — not as a tour operator, but as a statement of intent. Every itinerary we build, every camp we select, every guide we put in the field carries his insistence that excellence and responsibility are not competing values. They are, in fact, the same thing. Philip remains actively involved in all aspects of the company, from conservation partnerships and community programmes to the architecture of individual guest experiences. When he travels with guests — which he does, often — he does not narrate the wilderness. He simply lets it speak.
"The wild does not need our admiration.
— Philip Ferdinand Mtundubalo
It needs us to make better decisions because of it."
